Christy Vance

Christy came up to me at a networking meeting and said, "Okay, it's time." Time to just do it. She had needed new shots for quite a while and I was thrilled to get the change to provide her with some awesome new ones. With Christy's shoot, I ventured out into the neighborhood where I had seen some beautiful pink bougainvillea. It's always a good idea to get permission ahead of time, especially when it's on someone else's property. My neighbors were quick to say "yes" and I was so glad we did.

Donna Castorino

Donna needed images for all the social media sites. Like everyone, she was nervous to make the commitment to get it done. She brought in great clothes to choose from and we got started in hair and makeup immediately. Soon my team realized what a gorgeous, elegant woman we were working with. Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy come to mind when I look at Donna's images. Isn't she beautiful?

A Better Head Shot

Sherry wanted a better head shot. She even had an example image of what she was looking for. She knew her previous image was outdated, she knew she needed a new fresh look, but she was nervous and didn't know how to make it happen.

Like everyone is.

Sherry leads a team of entrepreneurs and needed images that represented her leadership style. She wanted "fun, strength, welcoming/approachable, and purposeful". I knew we could do that.

Sherry's business is with a health and wellness company and you can find her here.

When she came to view her images she was actually more nervous than during the photoshoot itself. She was trying to figure out how to tell me "thanks, but not thanks" just in case she didn't like them. When she saw them, her eyes were filled with tears. Tears of relief. Tears of joy. Made my day.

Purposeful.

Purposeful.

Above is Sherry's previous head shot and profile picture. There's nothing inherently wrong with it. It was just time for an update.

Approachable and welcoming.

Beth Morrill

Everyone thinks they can't get a good photograph of themself. Everyone. But it's always my pleasure to prove that belief incorrect. Beth is a wonderful lady. I liked her immediately. Isn't it funny how you feel a certain kinship to someone who shares your name? Beth is "Elizabeth Ann". So am I. She went the way of "Beth", I went the way of "Liz". Beth is in the financial services industry. She's bright, easy to get along with, and I enjoyed her a lot.

Sally and Mary Ann

Sally and her mother, Mary Ann, were in recently for a mother daughter shoot. We had such a great time together. And my joy was creating something that I knew was going to be a legacy, something that her boys would have for years and years to come, something that would outlive all of us. That's what Sally received when she made the time to make this happen. Watch this and challenge yourself not to cry.

Marianne Reyes

I met Marianne at a networking event. I liked her immediately and was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her for some personal branding images. Can you believe Marianne used to be in corporate America in the insurance industry? She finally decided to make a change since she’d always wanted to own her own store. Now she’s the owner of Jade’s Fashions in South Pasadena. It was hard to settle on these favorites since there were so many good ones. If you like customer service and are tired of department stores cramming the racks, seeing clothes all over the floor and in the dressing rooms, if you like quality, go see Marianne. Tell her I sent you.

Ressell Yu

Just fun and nice and laughs a lot. That describes Ressell! We met at a networking event  and I couldn't have been happier when I got the call that she was looking to update her social media with new images. Ressel has a business teaching young kids how to have an e-commerce business; something I had never heard of. Her business teaches kids discipline, how to manage money, how to sell (we're all selling at one point or another!), and she's helped her son completely pay for his college education ALREADY. He's 11 (I think...). If you have kids or know any, you should contact my friend Ressell here

Stephanie Jolivet

Amazing. That's the first word I think of when I think of Stephanie. She has arms and legs and flexibility for days. Like we all need to, Stephanie wanted to update her website and her social media presence. We met and talked about how she wanted her image to come across. Stephanie is fun, but she's also a business woman who knows her stuff. We tried to get that across in her images.

And, then there's the beautiful feminine powerful dress-pose. You just never know when you're coming in for a photo session so you might as well bring ini a gorgeous dress. It'll be come the one you keep forever. Like Stephanie did.

Rhonda Cure

Rhonda is fearless! She is a pole dancer/fitness instructor I met at a networking event. Have to admit when she told me about her pole dancing classes I was  intrigued. I love her fearless attitude and she’s as nice as she can be, too. She lives and teaches in Calabasas otherwise I’m sure I’d be one of her students! (ahem…) Learn more about this fascinating woman by checking out her website. Hair and makeup by Crystal Watana.

Sylvia Harold

Years ago I met a really nice woman via our children. Silvia Harold lives with her husband Chuck and 2 children just down the street from me. It may have taken a while to get her in front of my camera, but we are both so happy she did. Everyone thinks they’re not photogenic, and everyone thinks they won’t look good. Everyone is wrong. Silvia is proof! Hair and makeup by Mimica Blasco

Erica Romero

I’ve known Erica ever since she was pregnant with her little boy – and now Ethan is 4. We met in a church choir and discovered we shared a love for photography. I know she won’t believe it, but, because of Erica, I felt more confident in becoming the photographer I am today. Erica is just one of those people you could trust to take care of your most valued possessions. She’s strong, funny, loves singing those church songs (make sure you ask her about the first wedding we shot together), and while she currently lives in Texas, I know she’ll be back in Cali someday. Texas is lucky and I miss her. You can see Erica’s Photography business in Texas here. Hair and makeup by Mimica Blasco

Jeff Rollert

We agreed to disagree. The tie. I disagreed. He made a good point. I wanted it gone, he brought a boat load of ties to pick from. He won. Jeff is a great guy with a heart for serving his clients (mostly women) helping them protect their money for a secure future. He could not have been easier to photograph. I don't have many clients who tell me "You can't insult me. Say what you need to say, do what you need to do, to get the shot." My kind of client. :) In the end we settled on professional, confident, nice guy. I think we got the shots. You can reach Jeff here

Heidi Wood-Brown

Heidi is just one of those people you like to be around. She’s kind, she’s funny, she’s smart. And, heck, she’s from the midwest! I love midwestern people!! (ahem..) Heidi wanted to upgrade her social media presence. She needed images for LinkedIn as well as Facebook and more. She agreed with me that one should have more than one awesome images, and even some to keep on hand to rotate now and then. It’ll keep her looking relevant- smart girl like Heidi gets that! Heidi also understands time leveraging. She has started a business with Rodan&Fields and you can find Heidi and her business here

Christina Novak

I’ve known Christina since she was a young girl. Now all grown up, married with her second child on the way, she and husband Sean and their son James, met me at Hartley Botanical Gardens in Ventura County where we did her maternity photos. What at location! Gorgeous, fairy-tale like, and we had the place to ourselves to get all the images we wanted. Christina and Sean are some of the nicest people I know (and Christina has a beautiful singing voice!). I’m happy to do my part in creating their memories.

Enna Desai

I couldn’t help but notice this beautiful woman when we worked out at the same gym. She was going through some awesome physical changes and I was noticing that she was getting in great shape. I knew I had to photograph her. I was nervous to ask but her kind spirit calmed any fear. She seemed surprised that I wanted her in my studio. Surprised? Didn’t she know she was gorgeous? That’s true of so many of the women I talk to. None of them believe me when I tell them what I see. Hair and makeup by Samantha Bates

Jenny Hefner

Jenny.jpg

“Don’t let the blonde fool you!” One of the first things I remember about Jenny was when she said that to me when I first met her at a networking meeting. She cracks me up with her dry wit. Jenny is a property manager at Barrister Executive Suites. (Awesome place for businesses to rent that are looking for professional working space without paying high rent from a traditional brick and mortar. Check them out here.) I loved having Jenny in my studio. It’s just fun being with her. I’m hoping to get another chance with her soon. Just to hang with her. Hair and makeup by Susan Armendariz.

Mireya Pirez

This lady is one sharp dresser, she has killer clothes, and I go oooh and aaah over her purses! I love her style, her attitude, and her quiet strength. She won her portrait session with me and when I spoke with her to let her know, she told me how never wins these kinds of things. Well, that’s the end of that! This girl is a winner! She’s with a great company that you will want to know more about. Check her out here. Hair and makeup by Susan Armendariz
